Marble Cakes

  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup Blue Band margarine, melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C and line your loaf pan with some parchment paper.
  2. Melt the Blue Band margarine in a pot and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Add the eggs and sugar in a bowl and beat using an electric whisk until pale.
  4. Now add the melted margarine, vanilla essence and yoghurt and beat again.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  7. Pour half of the batter in a separate bowl and add cocoa powder to it. Whisk until combined.
  8. Pour alternate scoops of the vanilla and chocolate batter into your loaf pan and then dip a butter knife all the way down and move it in a zig zag motion to mix the batters together.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
